Don’t you think at times we are going overboard with a lot of products that we are forgetting to let our hair breath?

All these products are important but with regular use, it causes build up in your hair and scalp which adversely effect hair growth. So how do we tackle this problem?

That’s when Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV ) rinse comes into picture. The best part is, you can use it for any hair types.

Here are some benefits of ACV rinse :

· Removes build up from hair and scalp.

· Adds volume to your hair.

· Adds to curl definition.

· Adds shine and makes your hair soft.

· Stimulates hair growth.

· Gets rid of dandruff.

What to look for?

Get an ACV which is raw, unfiltered and unpasteurised. The solution will be having sediments and will be a bit cloudy at the bottom.

Make sure that the bottle has a label “The Mother” on it, which is basically the bacteria and enzymes that does the magic.

I use Nourish vitals Apple Cider Vinegar. It costs around Rs 230 for 250 ml. But you can go for any brand with the above specifications.

How to use?

There are many people who use ACV instead of their shampoo. If you have a good threshold for really bad smell go ahead with it but since I cannot stand that smell I do the following:

1. If you have oily hair take three to four tablespoons of ACV. But if you have dry hair, two tablespoons are enough. Then dilute it with one cup of water. if the smell bothers you then add a few drops of your favourite essential oil to it.

2.Pour this solution into a spray bottle.

3.Take partitions in your hair and spray it on your scalp as well as hair through out its length.

4.Since the solution is watery, in-order to avoid the mess, put your hair in a bun and cover it with a shower cap.

5.Keep it for 15 to 20 minutes and then rinse it off with shampoo.

I do this once in a month to remove all those build up and this routine works well for me.

So let your hair breath :)
